Screen: Transparency and Impact – Choosing the Pitch and Background

13 December 2024 par pierre

The Emergence of Transparent Screens: A Revolution in Visual Communication and Retail

Transparent screens are creating a true disruption in the world of visual communication and retail. These innovative tools combine technology, aesthetics, and functionality to meet the needs of modern businesses. Here’s why they are becoming a strategic choice for points of sale.

I. Showcase Your Products While Capturing Attention

A transparent screen allows you to display dynamic content while keeping your store and products visible in the background. Unlike traditional screens that obscure the space, these screens offer a unique combination:

  • Showcase animations, videos, or promotions without concealing the sales space.

  • Create a captivating visual effect that draws passersby’s attention to the store.
  • Preserve all incoming light for those inside.
  • Allow staff or customers inside the store to have a view of the outside without feeling confined.

This double impact – physical product + digital content –guarantees an optimal enhancement of your offer.

II. The screen pitch: transparency and resolution

The pitch, which defines the spacing between pixels, has a direct influence on two essential aspects of the screen:

Transparency: The wider the pitch, the more transparent the screen, thus allowing better visibility of the products behind the screen.
Resolution: A tighter pitch improves the definition of the display, offering a sharper image but essentially transparency.

It is therefore crucial to understand how these two factors interact to choose the optimal pitch according to your needs.
When to choose a wide or tight pitch?

The choice of pitch mainly depends on two factors: the distance between the screen and the viewer and the type of content you want to display.

Distance between the screen and the viewer:
Wide pitch: It is preferable to use a wide pitch when the screen is placed at a certain distance from the viewers, for example in shop windows or spaces where customers stand away from the screen. This maximizes transparency.
Tight pitch: If the screen is placed close to the viewers, such as on a display, a tight pitch is necessary to ensure optimal resolution while maintaining good transparency.

Type of content to be displayed:
The content also plays a determining role in the choice of pitch:
Lighting effects or static text: To display lighting effects or simple text, a wide pitch may be sufficient. The objective is to favor transparency while ensuring a rendering clear enough to read texts or simple lighting effects.
Animations or complex images: If the screen must display animations or detailed visuals, a tighter pitch is preferable. This maintains a high resolution and guarantees the readability of dynamic content while preserving a certain transparency.
The importance of the background to optimize transparency:

It is also essential to take into account the background of the screen. A black or dark-colored background is highly recommended to effectively play on transparency. Black accentuates the brightness of the displayed elements while allowing the products behind the screen to remain visible.
On the other hand, a light background can reduce the transparency effect because its brightness dazzles and harms the clarity and visibility of the objects behind the screen.

Adaptability according to your space and needs

Depending on the space available and the desired effect, you can choose a suitable pitch to maximize the impact of your transparent screens:

For large surfaces: A wide pitch to optimize transparency without disturbing the visual impact.
For small surfaces or detailed content: A tighter pitch to ensure a more precise definition.

Optimize your experience with adapted transparent screens

Understanding the interaction between pitch, display distance and content type allows you to maximize the impact of your transparent screens in your points of sale. By learning these parameters wisely, you create a unique visual experience that captures the attention of your customers while highlighting your products.

Opt for the innovation and flexibility of this technology to transform your windows and offer visual communication that is both modern and effective.
